Findasite Town Planners was established in 2012 as a Town Planning Firm that offered affordable development solutions to every level of developer. The firm specialises in project management, development compliance, development assessment and project strategy services.
The firm has vast experience in all forms of property development and can offer advice in relation to every aspect of your next project, from individual houses through to high rise projects.
The firm expanded in late 2013 to take on a further Town Planner and began specialising in taking clients “from start to finish”. This included finding development sites, drafting and project managing the development application, compliance with development approval conditions and development strategy.
We have found that our clients appreciate the fact that we aide them throughout the development process and allow them to get the best returns on their investment.
The firm expanded in 2017 and 2018 to now offer in combination with Civil360 and ArchiSolve specialist civil engineering services and architectural drafting. Findasite’s ambition is to provide specialist property development services all within the same office. By providing these services clients can be assured works will progress quickly and efficiently due to the ease of communication.
Our team
Christopher Waning – Managing Director and Town Planner
Background – Christopher has been a Gold Coast resident since 1982 and has seen the Gold Coast expand from a small beach town to an emerging City. He attended The Southport School where he graduated in 1999 and has since spent time living on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Passionate about experiencing other cultures and lifestyle, Christopher has also resided overseas for a short time, spending time in California, Roi Et in Thailand and Dubai.
Experience – With encouragement from close family and friends, Christopher started his career in Development in 2006. The projects he has undertaken include Luxury Dwellings, Townhouse Complexes and Duplex development throughout the Gold Coast and Logan City. In his free time, Christopher would seek out small to mid-sized development opportunities throughout the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Logan. From there, Christopher developed a growing interest toward Town Planning and commenced study in Planning at QUT. He shortly commenced work with Gold Coast City Council and after 5 years’ employment, Chris ventured out to start his own Planning firm. With strong technical analysis in Statutory Planning, Christopher established Findasite in 2013. The company is emerging as one of the key Consultants in the Planning Industry for Queensland. In 2015, Stephen Northey join the Findasite Team as a Partner. Together Christopher and Stephen continue to build the business to be one of the top Town Planning Firms on the Gold Coast.

Stephen Northey – Director and Town Planner
Background – Stephen grew up in the small city of Tauranga in New Zealand. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree (with honours) in Resource and Environmental Planning from Massey University in early 2013. Young at heart, Stephen jumped onto a plane as soon as he graduated and headed to Australia to seek more professional opportunity. A keen sportsman, Stephen enjoys a variety of sports including rugby, cricket and basketball.
Experience – Following a work experience stint in 2013 an opportunity to continue working for Findasite was provided. After having the opportunity to work directly in partnership with Director Chris Waning from mid-2015, Stephen has become a valued and well respected Planner, as his growing knowledge in Planning has helped educate Planning interns and provide sound Planning advice to clients. Stephen has been able to build a deep knowledge of local and state planning legislation which is now able to pass on to his clients.
Qualification – Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning with Honours, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand
Avishek Paul (Avi) – Town Planner
Background – Avi completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from India in 2015 prior to moving to Australia to pursue his Post Graduate degree. Avi completed a Master’s degree in Sustainable Environments and Planning from Bond University in 2017. Avi is passionate about Urban Planning and Design and is pursuing a research degree in Urban Design from Bond University alongside working at Findasite. In his spare time, Avi enjoys urban sketching, Architectural photography and travelling.
Experience – Since completing his Master’s degree in Planning, Avi has acquired over two years’ of local experience working within the private sector. Avi has experience working in Statutory Planning across the Australian states of Queensland and the Northern Territory. Avi is adept at preparing documentation for Development Application lodgement packages and providing well researched, in-depth planning analysis. Avi’s Architecture background enables him to interpret drawings efficiently and describe them using simple planning terms.
Qualification – Bachelor of Architecture, VTU Bangalore, India (2009-14) Master of Sustainable Environments and Planning, Bond University (2015-17)
